Everton's Liam Walsh in action for David Unsworth's Under-23 side.

In the first of a regular series of features on the Blues’ superb academy setup, Everton Under-23 starlet Liam Walsh sat down with Paddy Boyland to discuss his Premier League 2 title hopes, next Monday’s second-string game against Southampton at Goodison Park and the influence of Ronald Koeman and David Unsworth on his fledgling career.

Liam spoke to us ahead of the Under-23’s game on Monday 20th February at Goodison which is free to attend. As well as the action on the pitch, there will be plenty of pre-match activity taking place in the Everton Fan Zone from 5.30pm with live music, free giveaways and special guest appearances from Tom Davies, Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who have all been involved in the fundraising campaign to date.

As the game is a dedicated fixture to raise awareness and funds for the ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ campaign, which has as its goal the development of a supported living initiative for young people between the ages of 16 – 23, there will be donation buckets on entry at the turnstiles for fans to show their support.

Aside from offering young adults who have fallen on hard times, or have perhaps fallen out of the care system, a roof over their head in difficult times, the campaign, with the help of Everton in the Community, will also play a large part in their development by providing access to key services including health and well-being support and assistance with education, employment and training. The scheme will also encourage those youngsters involved to contribute to the local community through the NCS programme and volunteering.

Tickets are free and are available in the Sir Philip Carter Park End Stand or the Upper Bullens. Tickets can be collected from Wednesday 8 February right up until kick-off on Monday 20 February from Everton One, Everton Two or the Park End Box Office.
